Clones in the wing disc expressing ptcScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP are significantly smaller than control clones, covering only 65% of the area covered by control clones. Cell proliferation rates in the clone are decreased, but individual cell size and cell cycle phasing are unaffected.

Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 induced wing clones that do not abut the A/P boundary develop normally. Clones that abut the boundary from either the anterior or posterior side cause mild patterning defects in the adult.

Co-expression of Cdk4Scer\UAS.cMa and CycDScer\UAS.cDa suppresses the inhibition of growth seen in clones in the wing discs expressing ptcScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP. Expression of ptcScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP does not significantly reduce the size of clones induced in the wing disc in a Cdk43 mutant background.
