Expression of dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] results in a small eye phenotype.
S-phase in secondary precursor cells in the bristle lineage is delayed by around 20 minutes by expression of dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[neur-P72].
Histoblast clones that express dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI do not proliferate. This results in a profound delay in larval epidermis cell death. Developmental timing is not affected in these animals but pharate adult esacpers show multiple differentiation and morphogenetic abdominal defects.
The distance between wing veins L3 and L4 at the wing margin is reduced in animals expressing dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1. There is a decrease in S phase cells in cells expressing dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 in the wing disc. Expression of dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 results in nicks in the wing.
Over-expression of dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PU] blocks the second wave of mitosis posterior to the morphogenetic furrow in the eye imaginal disc.
Overexpression of dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4neur-P72 triggers a G1-phase in pIIa and pIIb cells.
Overexpression of dapScer\UAS.cLa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in a reduction in the number of neurons in the NB6-4t lineage (from the wild-type number of 6 to 2-4 in approximately 81% of hemisegments), but homeotic transformation of the lineage does not occur. In addition, the number of glial cells is not affected, neither in the thorax nor in the abdomen.
When dapScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4twi.PG, most hemisegments of mutant embryos show only one eve expressing pericardial cell (EPC), suggesting that the last division generating two EPCs did not occur. A reduction is also seen in the number of myocardial cells in these mutants. When dapScer\UAS.cLa is driven by Scer\GAL4eve.eme, both DA1 and DO2 founders form, but the number of EPCs is reduced to half.
Females expressing dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4c323 are sterile, and lay flaccid eggs with thin eggshells and smaller dorsal appendages than normal.
Scer\GAL4F4-mediated expression results in inhibition of endoreplication.
Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 mediated overexpression results in a stable G1 arrest.

The severity of the wing nicking phenotype caused by expression of dapScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 is greatly enhanced by vgnull/+.
Over-expression of Rca1[Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1.T:Zzzz\FLAG] and dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PU] does not alter the ability of Rca1[Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1.T:Zzzz\FLAG] to induce ectopic cell division in the eye disc.
Expression of dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] along the dorsal/ventral boundary of the wing under the control of Scer\GAL4[vg.int2.1] in a vg[null]/+ mutant background results in nicks at the wing tips. There is a significant decrease in mitotic cells along the dorsal/ventral boundary. Co-expression of vg[Scer\UAS.cZa] in flies expressing dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] at the dorsal/ventral wing boundary under the control of Scer\GAL4[vg.int2.1] in a vg[null]/+ mutant background rescues wing morphology, and mitotic activity of cells is restored in this region.
Co-expression of dapScer\UAS.cLa blocks the ability of ciScer\UAS.cDa (expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP) to induce S phase in clones in the morphogenetic furrow.
Expression of dap[Scer\UAS.cLa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[vg.PU] in a vg[null]/+ background results in a mutant wing phenotype.
Simultaneous expression of CycEScer\UAS.cLa completely rescues the cell cycle arrest induced by Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 mediated overexpression of dapScer\UAS.cLa.
