ci94 embryos expressing ci76.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 have a cuticular phenotype close to that of ciCe-2 embryos. Denticle diversity is still seen. Type 4 denticles are still present, although they are sometimes reduced in some segments.
When driven by Scer\GAL4c591 a phenotype is seen that is very similar to that of hh loss of function mutations. The ocelli are eliminated and ectopic frons cuticle appears in the medial region.
Expression of ci76.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes the partial loss of L3-L4 intervein.
Cells expressing ci76.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP at the posterior margin of the lamina furrow fail to enter S phase. Where clones of cells expressing ci76.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP cross the lamina furrow, S phase lamina neuron precursors (LPCs) are absent, while S phase LPCs are seen immediately outside of the clone. No defects are seen in other proliferation zones such as the outer proliferation centre or inner proliferation centre when they contain clones of cells expressing ci76.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PP.
Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1-mediated expression at 16oC allows recovery of some escapers, these exhibit an abnormal wing phenotype. Scer\GAL4en-e16E-mediated expression at 16oC also allows recovery of some escapers that exhibit almost complete loss of wings, severely disrupted legs and reduced thorax.

ci76.Scer\UAS enhances the eye overgrowth phenotype seen when DlScer\UAS.cDa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH. Eye overgrowth is seen with 75% penetrance.
hydK7.19 clones in the eye disc which are also expressing ci76.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL sometimes result in ectopic photoreceptor differentiation in the tissue surrounding the clone. hydK7.19 hhrJ413 double mutant clones in the eye which are also expressing ci76.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL do not show overgrowth.
The wing vein phenotype caused by expression of ci76.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 cannot be rescued by Scer\GAL4 driven expression of knScer\UAS.cVa.
Carried in plasmid "Ci76", coexpressed in S2 cells with Scer\GAL4 and localisation of the protein is assayed.
