The LCh5 neurons are located in a more dorsal position than normal in more than 30% of the abdominal segments in homozygous embryos. The affected neurons usually remain associated with the dorsal PNS cluster, or occasionally they are positioned between the dorsal and lateral PNS clusters. Those neurons that remain associated with the dorsal PNS cluster have dendrites which point ventrally or posteriorly instead of dorsally.
