Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Sound-evoked compound action potentials in the antennal nerve are not significantly different from wild type in Cam[5]/Cam[n339] flies. However, nonlinear mechanical amplification is significantly increased compared to wild type.
Cam5 heterozygotes exhibit little effect on the average period of free-running.
Some hemizygotes reared separately from wild-type siblings survive to the adult stage. These mutants are ill coordinated and weak and do not live long as adults. Mutants perform very poorly in vortex, flight and climb tests. Transheterozygous combinations with other Cam mutations produces an incompletely penetrant ectopic wing vein phenotype and either lateral or bilateral cuticular 'scabs' on the notum.

Statement
Reference
A heterozygous Cam5 background in flies expressing Mmmm\PVScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf can result in lengthening of the free-running period, compared to controls, after 5 weeks in constant darkness.
