Ectopic expression of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa under the regulation of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 leads to a reduction (from 5-6 to 2-4), but not the complete loss of neuronal cells in NB6-4t.
The salivary glands of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa; Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 larvae are small and their cells do not have endoreplicated DNA.
Expression of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in smaller third larval instar eye discs than normal and eyes which are reduced in size. Flies expressing Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev have wild-type eyes.
When expression is driven in the wing with Scer\GAL4en-e16E the resulting phenotype is similar to that caused by RacGAP50CΔE1E.Scer\UAS in that cells are enlarged, hair polarity is altered and apotosis abnormally elevated.
When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF BrdU staining is abolished posterior to the morphogenetic furrow.
Flies carrying two copies of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa and Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, raised at 18oC, are morphologically normal, except for the loss of the anterior cross vein and part of the L3 wing vein. Cells in the L3-L4 intervein region are larger than normal.
Expression of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL41151 strongly inhibits proliferation of the imaginal myoblasts in the wing imaginal disc. The persistent thoracic larval muscles escape histolysis in these animals, as in wild-type development, but the larval muscles do not split during pupation, in contrast to wild-type. Few, if any, myoblasts are associated with the persistent larval muscles. Early metamorphic events in the larval motor nerves occur normally.

Expression of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH in a Lfee mutant background does not restore eye size, and flies have small eyes.
dmScer\UAS.cZa does not rescue salivary gland size in Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa; Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 larvae, but does rescue endoreplication in this tissue to a limited degree.
The metastatic behaviour seen in clones in the eye disc which are homozygous for scrib1 and are also expressing Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI is not suppressed if they are co-expressing Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa; although the tumour size is decreased, mutant cells can still spread into the ventral nerve cord.
Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1-mediated expression of one copy of Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa suppresses most, but not all, of Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS-induced cell proliferation and hyperplastic growth seen in wing discs. The lethal phase is delayed but not suppressed. At 18oC coexpression with Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS results in the complete suppression of lethality associated with Ras85D expression. Morphologically, the wing is restored to its normal shape and size, although Hsap\CDKN1AScer\UAS.cHa only partially suppresses the extra wing vein material along L3. Larger wing cell size is completely suppressed.
