mew023 ifk27e or mew498 ifk27e double mutants have no midgut constrictions. Scer\GAL4how-24B-mediated expression of ifΔ.C.Scer\UAS rescues initiation of midgut constrictions. Scer\GAL4hs.PB-mediated expression of ifΔ.C.Scer\UAS allows some rescue of the eye phenotype of mew498 clones.
