The ommatidial loss phenotype of foxoGS9928 mutants is strongly enhanced by co-expressing Pi3K92ED954A.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. This phenotype is completely suppressed by co-expression of Akt1Scer\UAS.cSa.
Co-expression of RhebAV4 results in a strong enhancement of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF>foxoGS9928, leading to loss of virtually all ommatidia in females and pupal lethality in males with massive tissue degeneration in the head of late pupae. These phenotypes are partially suppressed by Akt1Scer\UAS.cSa overexpression.
Co-expression of foxoGS9928 with either CG1139GS10666 or pathGS13857, driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, enhances the foxoGS9928 reduced eye phenotype, an effect completely suppressed by Akt1Scer\UAS.cSa co-expression.
Co-expression of Akt1Scer\UAS.cSa does not rescue the eye phenotype caused by expression of Mmus\Foxo1AA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. Co-expression of Akt1Scer\UAS.cSa and Mmus\Foxo1AA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in ommatidia that are approximately the same size as in control flies.
