    Dorsal closure occurs slowly in mutant embryos.
    Heterozygotes have wild-type leg and wing morphology.
    Homozygous and Rho1E3.10/Rho1J3.8 embryos have dorsal anterior holes in their cuticle. The hole extends from the anterior to approximately the second or third thoracic segment. The head skeleton may be extruded out of the dorsal opening. Homozygous embryos show compacted posterior spiracles with kinked filzkorper. Rho1E3.10/Rho172O embryos have dorsal anterior holes in their cuticle. The embryos have compacted posterior spiracles.

    100% of Rho1E3.10/zipEbr double heterozygotes have a malformed leg phenotype, which shows variable expressivity. In more severe cases, a dent and twisting of the femur is apparent, along with shortening and thickening of the tibia. Notching of the posterior region of the wing blade is also seen. 42% of Rho1E3.10/Df(2R)Jp1 double heterozygotes show a malformed phenotype.
