Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Expression of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] driven α-Cat[Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg] does not effect patterning of the eye compared to Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] alone. Expression of α-Cat[Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg] under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] results in low level failure to switch cone-cell contacts. No morphological abnormalities are seen in embryos expressing α-CatScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E. α-CatScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg when driven by Scer\GAL4btl.PS produces embryos with normal adherens junction patterns. Almost all (98.9%) dorsal trunk fusions are successful.

Genetic Interactions

Statement Reference Expression of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] driven α-Cat[Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg] leads to a mild suppression of the N[fa-g] pupal retina phenotypes.
Expression of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] driven α-Cat[Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg] leads to a mild enhancement of some of the rst[6] pupal retina patterning phenotypes.
Expression of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] driven α-Cat[Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg] leads to a mild enhancement of the p120ctn[308] pupal retina patterning error phenotypes. Expression of α-Cat[Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg] strongly enhances the cone cell switching phenotype seen 41-42 hours after pupal formation when pyd[3.dsRNA.Scer\UAS] is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF]. A greater proportion of ommatidia maintain the immature A/P configuration rather than switching to the E/P configuration as is seen in controls. shg2/Df(2R)E2 embryos with α-CatScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-sg driven by Scer\GAL4btl.PS, show largely disordered tracheal branching. No successful dorsal trunk fusions are seen in these embryos. The addition of shgScer\UAS.cOa to these flies rescues these phenotypes to nearly wild-type. Tracheal patterning is normal, although tracheal branches and connectives in the embryos are less extended than in wild-type.
