      Comments

      Expression of the sqdB isoform is not sufficient to rescue the sqd1 dorsal-ventral patterning defects, such that the eggs remain unfertilised.

      The nurse cell chromosome defect seen in sqd1 homozygotes is partially rescued by 2 copies of sqdS, amd almost completely rescued by sqdS + sqdB or + sqdA.

      68.9% of eggs derived from homozygous sqd1 females carrying sqdS are wild type. 98.4% of eggs derived from homozygous sqd1 females carrying both sqdA and sqdS are wild type. Partially rescues the lethality of sqdix50/Df(3R)urd.
