Expression of Hsc70-4[Scer\UAS.cEa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Act] is able to extend the mean life span under hyperoxic conditions by 24%. Expression of Hsc70-4[Scer\UAS.cEa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ple.PF] rescues the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons that is seen in flies under hyperoxia.
Flies expressing Hsc70-4Scer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW show normal wing positions.
Expression of Hsc70-4Scer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4337Y has no adverse effects. Embryos expressing Hsc70-4Scer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B have a wild-type muscle pattern. The majority of newly hatched or 2 day old larvae expressing Hsc70-4Scer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4156Y are able to sense, locate and burrow into a yeast paste food source within 20 minutes in a behavioural assay.

Statement
Reference
The mechanical stress sensitivity of Tpi[sgk-1] animals is enhanced if they are also expressing Hsc70-4[Scer\UAS.cEa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Act5C.Switch.PR] (in the presence of Mifepristone).
hide Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference
Coexpression of the Hsc70-4Scer\UAS.cEa transgene results in efficient suppression of the wing posture phenotype of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW>Hsap\PABPN117ala.Scer\UAS flies.
