The P{lacW}l(3)64AbS137212 insertion maps 72bp upstream of the predicted initiator methionine codon of Fit1. Overexpression of an Ack transgene (the gene immediately downstream of Fit1) does not rescue the lethality of the insertion, suggesting that it is more likely to be affecting the function of Fit1 rather than Ack.
