    stan3/stanE59 flies have almost normal hair polarities in the tergite, apart from near the front and near the rear of the anterior compartment.

    The hexagonal packing of intervein cells, which usually occurs between wing development stage P2B (when the first morphological signs of veins appear (FBrf0005070), and the middle of P2C (before hair formation (FBrf0005070)) is partially disrupted in stan3/stan3 flies.

    Relatively strong polarity phenotype in the adult cuticle. Wing hairs show a stereotypical abnormal polarity pattern of the fz/in class. Homozygotes show relatively few multiple hair cells, similar to fz, dsh and pk mutants. During morphogenesis in pupal wings stan prehairs form at a relatively central location on the apical cells surface, as opposed to at the distal-most vertex as is characteristic of wild type cells. Somatic clones in the wing show cell autonomous wing hair polarity defects.

    The reversal of cell polarity phenotype that is seen in cells posterior to clones in the anterior compartment of the dorsal epidermis of the adult abdomen (in the tergite) where the clones are doubly mutant for ptc16 and Df(2R)enE is not seen if the clones are induced in a dsunspecified stan3/stanE59 double mutant background instead of a wild-type background.

    The formation of holes in wings due to temperature shift of shi1/shi1 animals during pupal stages is mildly enhanced by stan3/+,.

    A stan3/stan3 background blocks planar repolarisation both inside and outside fz15 homozygous clones in the abdomen.

    stanE59/stan3 suppresses the planar repolarisation in the adult abdomen caused by fzScer\UAS.cSa; Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1.

    The domineering non-autonomy of the fz23 clone phenotype is largely, but not completely, suppressed by stan3. stan3 completely blocks the ability of a gradient of fz expression to reorganize wing hair polarity. stan3 does not block the ability of fzhs.PP to form multiple hairs, it rather enhances the fzhs.PP multiple hair phenotype slightly.
