    The ovarioles are poorly developed and atrophied in th8/th6B females.

    Less than 1% of th6B/th21-2s egg chambers have border follicle cell migration defects, while 10% have more than 15 nurse cells. 10% of th6B/th21-2s egg chambers show polarity defects. Homozygous follicle cells clones do not result in border follicle cell migration defects.

    91% of th6B/th8 females fail to lay eggs. Females have severely stunted and irregularly shaped ovaries that appear atrophied. Most egg chambers exhibit overtly degenerative phenotypes.

    The overgrowth phenotype that is caused by homozygous clones in the eye is enhanced by Df(3L)H99/+ and is suppressed by th6B/+.

    The NcI24/NcL32 combination partially suppresses the ovarian atrophy phenotype seen in th8/th6B mutants; the egg chamber is significantly enlarged compared to the th8/th6B mutant.

    The addition of ArkCD4/ArkCD4 or ArkCD4/+ to suppresses the sterility of th6B/th8 females, leading to 47% and 69% of females laying eggs respectively. Ovaries are considerably larger and generally wild-type in appearance. Most egg chambers are normal in morphology and number.

    Increases the viability of Whs.PG flies threefold.
