Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa via the Scer\GAL4en-e16E driver results in a severe wing phenotype, including ectopic wing veins, blistering of the wing blade and reduced wing size.
Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PU alters the structure of the eye.
Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa at low levels in all wing disc cells using Scer\GAL4C-765 results in ectopic vein formation. Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa in all wing blade cells during imaginal development using Scer\GAL4MD-638 results in the formation of large territories of vein differentiation in distal wing regions in females, and the formation of smaller wings with ectopic veins in males. Ectopic sensory organs and wing hairs are also observed. Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa in all wing imaginal cells using Scer\GAL4nub-AC-62 results in ectopic vein tissue in most of the wing. Only the regions between vein L3 and L4 and the region posterior to L5 differentiate intervein tissue. Ectopic sensory organs and wing hairs are also observed.
When osaScer\UAS.cCa is driven by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237, mutant adults show a thoracic cleft and loss of dorsocentral bristles.
When osaScer\UAS.cCa is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF a mild rough eye phenotype is seen.
osaScer\UAS.cCa when driven by Scer\GAL4vg.PM produces flies with small wings that lack proximal hinge structures. Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa in the eye driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a variable reduction in eye size. This phenotype is enhanced by adding a second copy of osaScer\UAS.cCa and suppressed by the addition of osa308. Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa in the notum driven by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237induces the loss of microchaetae near the dorsal midline and a loss of macrochaetae especially the dorsocentrals and the scutellars. Co-expression of osaAD.Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 and osaScer\UAS.cCa gives a stronger phenotype than either alone. Expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa driven by Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 results in dominant pupa lethality. A small number of flies do eclose with deformed wings.

Co-expression of gemininScer\UAS.cQa driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E strongly suppresses the osaScer\UAS.cCa wing phenotype, although some blistering is still detectable.
The formation of ectopic wing veins in flies expressing rlSem.cUa.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 is strongly enhanced by over-expression of osaUAS.cCa.
The Bx1 scalloped wing phenotype is completely suppressed by expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.
The wing phenotypes seen when osaScer\UAS.cCa is driven by Scer\GAL4vg.PM are suppressed by the addition of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1. Addition of osaScer\UAS.cCa suppresses the dominant negative wing phenotypes seen in brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1, Scer\GAL4vg.PM flies. The variable eye size phenotype caused by expression of osaScer\UAS.cCa in the eye driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PH is enhanced by the addition of mor1 or Snr101319. The addition of brmK804R.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 or brm2/+ also enhances this phenotype. The addition of ash122 or ash21, trxE2 has no effect on the phenotype.
