Induction of grkΔTC.Scer\UAS by Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 does not affect the proliferation of adult midgut progenitor cells.

Border cells migrate normally when grkΔTC.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4cb41 in follicle cell clones.

Expression of one copy of grkΔTC.Scer\UAS in the border cell cluster, driven by Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6, causes a defects in border cell migration in egg chambers with around a 30% penetrance. Increasing the number of copies of the grkΔTC.Scer\UAS transgene increases the penetrance and severity of the phenotype.

Expression of grkΔTC.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 results in eggs with severely dorsalised chorions.

100% of border cell clusters migrate normally to the oocyte in egg chambers expressing grkΔTC.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI in anterior follicle cell clones.

Border cell migration is affected when grkΔTC.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of either Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6.

Expression of grkΔTC.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PB does not result in homeotic transformation of the eye to antenna.

When expressed in ovarian follicle cells under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2, eggs laid become dorsalised. When expressed in the wing disc under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2, extra wing veins are produced. When expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E, very few flies survive, however in escapers, an expansion of wing vein 4 up to the compartment boundary is seen in both wings, though this expansion does not extend over the boundary.

Expression of grkΔTC.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4vn.GAL4 rescues the lethality of vnL6/vnGAL4 mutants to the pharate adult stage. The wings have fused L3 and L4 veins and extra vein material. The wing disc phenotype is partially rescues and no leg defects are observed. The extent of the rescue depends on the level of expression, but viable flies are never seen. Very high levels of expression are toxic, with animals dying as pupae.

Co-expression of kek1Scer\UAS.cGa in the follicle cells completely suppresses the dorsalised chorion phenotype caused by expression of grkΔTC.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2.
