Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4l(2)E105-E105 results in variable truncation of the legs. Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in variable duplication of the legs. Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified results in a number of phenotypes including wing to notum transformations, leg truncations and duplications, loss, lateral displacement and disorientation of sternite bristles, haltere loss, ventral eye reduction, loss of wing margin, extra wing anterior crossveins and loss of antennae.
nkdScer\UAS.cZa when driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has no visible effect on eye development. Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa when driven by Scer\GAL4hs.PB 24 h after puparium formation (APF) produces adult flies with wing hair polarity defects that are indistinguishable from those seen in dsh1 mutant adults.
A duplicated NB 7-3 is formed in 40% of hemisegments in embryos expressing nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.
Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in near total loss of sternite bristles with occasional residual laterally displaced bristles.

Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4e22c in a wgl-17/+ background results in fusions between denticle belts due to loss of intervening naked cuticle. This effect is suppressed if the embryos are also heterozygous for RacGAP50CAR2; the triple mutant embryos have a wild-type cuticle pattern. Expression of nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4e22c significantly rescues the cuticle pattern defects seen in RacGAP50CAR2 embryos, although embryonic lethality is not rescued. However, the accumulation of binucleate cells in the epidermis that is seen during stage 11 in RacGAP50CAR2 embryos is unaffected if the embryos are also expressing nkdScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4e22c.

      Comments
Expression of nkd[Scer\UAS.cZa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[da.G32] rescues the cuticle defects of nkd[2]/nkd[3] embryos.
Rescues the cuticle defects of nkd2/nkd3 embryos when expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32.
