Expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS in larval wing disc cells, under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, does not affect cell migration.

Overexpression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS in the whole brain, under the control of Scer\GAL4Dll-md23 does not affect neuroblast formation.

Expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS under the control Scer\GAL4c42 results in first instar larval lethality.

Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-mediated expression of NcDeltaN.Scer\UAS results in severely malformed and depigmented eyes.

At 25[o]C, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF,NcDeltaN.Scer\UAS flies fail to eclose out of the pupal case. At 18[o]C, a few flies emerge with completely ablated eyes and reduced head size.

Flies expressing NcΔN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF show degeneration of the eye. Large numbers of apoptotic cells are present in the eye discs of these animals.

Expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU induces apoptosis in the third larval instar eye disc.

When expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies exhibit roughened eyes that are reduced in size. Their surface morphology is distorted, disrupted and rough. The eyes are white. Dramatic and supernumerary apoptosis is seen posterior to the morphogenetic furrow in the eye disc.

Expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS attenuates numbTS4D.Scer\UAS induced ectopic neuroblast formation. No change in apoptosis is reported in this background, although the number of post-mitotic neurons is increased.

Co-expression of P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} mitigates the eye phenotypes seen in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, NcDeltaN.Scer\UAS flies.

Co-expression of P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} rescues the pupal lethality and small head phenotypes seen in flies expressing NcDeltaN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Co-expression of Hsp60DdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS suppresses the eye phenotypes caused by expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, and all these animals eclose with normal head size.

Homozygosity for Ice17 does not suppress the apoptosis induced in the third larval instar eye disc by expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

The addition of thGMR.PH to NcΔN.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF fails to rescue the pigment cell and ommatidial phenotypes seen in these flies. However the eye size is slightly increased compared to NcΔN.Scer\UAS and Scer\GAL4GMR.PF alone.

The addition of BacA\p35GMR.PH to Ncpro.Scer\UAS,Scer\GAL4GMR.PF weakly suppresses the phenotypes seen in those flies, leading to a slightly increased eye size.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Co-expression of NcΔN.Scer\UAS with BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa in larval wing disc cells, under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, leads to an aggressive cell invasion phenotype with extensive lamellipodia-like cellular processes.

The addition of BacA\p35GMR.PH to NcΔN.Scer\UAS,Scer\GAL4GMR.PF weakly suppresses the phenotypes seen in those flies, leading to a slightly increased eye size.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

The expression of DroncΔN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PU rescues both the significant proportion of hyperplastic adult testes and the increased necrosis at the apical tip of testes observed in DroncI29/DroncL32 transheterozygotes.
