Expression of inscEP2010 under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in loss of several scutellar macrochaetae. Sensory organs with no socket and one shaft, one socket and two shafts and no socket, no shaft and one sheath cell are seen.

It is not clear whether the phenotype caused by overexpression from the P{EP}inscEP2010 insertion is entirely due to altered expression of insc; sktl is present in the first intron of insc and it is not clear whether misexpression of insc, sktl or both is driven by the P{EP}inscEP2010 insertion.
