Description

P{EP} insertion 240bp upstream of the emc translation initiation codon. The P{EP} element is oriented such that expression from the element should result in overexpression of emc.

P{EP} insertion at -102bp relative to the start of the transcription unit.

Detailed Description

Expression of emcEP415 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a small eye.

Expression of emcEP415 under the control of Scer\GAL4c306 results in egg chambers containing multiple germline cysts with high penetrance.

Expression of emcEP415 under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in a loss of scutellar and dorsocentral macro- and microchaetae. Sensory organs with no socket, one shaft and one sheath cell and occasionally a shaft with a branching tip are seen.

pnrMD237/+ adults expressing emcEP415 under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 show complete loss of dorsocentral and scutellar macrochaetae and microchaetae in the dorsal midline including the abdomen.
