drm3 bowl1 double mutant clones in the leg (induced using the Minute technique) have a leg segment fusion phenotype that can be attributed to the loss of bowl alone.

Expression of upd1Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4drm.7.1 significantly rescues the drm3/drm6 mutant hindgut phenotype; the hindgut is more elongated and has fewer cells in its circumference than in drm3/drm6 embryos.

The gut morphology of drm3, bowl1 double homozygous embryos is indistinguishable from that of single mutants.
