Neuronal overexpression of Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4nSyb.PS elicit a significant synaptic overgrowth phenotype, with an expanded synapse consisting of several very small boutons.

Expression of Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.PU triggers extensive cell death in larval eye discs and produces rough eyes with reduced sizes.

Flies expressing Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4yolk are noticeably unhealthy and show altered organisation and loss of fat body tissue over the course of a few days.

Expression of Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev produces rough eyes with reduced size.

Expression of Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in degradation of the basement membrane of wing discs.

Expression of Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev results in rough eyes that are smaller than normal.

When Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev at 18oC, polarity defects are seen in the eye affecting both rotation and chirality, and also some loss of photoreceptors. When Tak1Scer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev at 25oC a very severe eye phenotype is observed. The adult eye is severely reduced in size and the structure of the ommatidial clusters is completely disrupted with photoreceptor cells often lost or not differentiated. Other drivers cause lethality at this temperature.
