ScerGAL4c105 drives expression in a total number of around 6 ring neurons R1 after eclosion and in about 8 neurons per hemisphere after 7 days. Labeled neurons co-express ScerGAL80ple.PK.
Expression of ScerGAL4c105 is seen in approximately 7 cells in each brain hemisphere that project to the bulb (or 'lateral triangle') of the central complex before bifurcating to project to the posterior ring of the ellipsoid body and to descend through the central brain.
Adult expression is observed in six-ten R1 ring neurons, with cell bodies lateral to the central complex, that arborize in the inner domain of the ellipsoid body and project to the lateral triangle.
Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4c105 cells in adults does not affect startle-induced climbing behavior, compared to controls.
Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4c105 cells in adults does not affect startle-induced climbing behavior, compared to controls.
