Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4rk.pan results in intestinal stem cell hyperproliferation in the adult midgut.

Expression of Pka-R1BDK.UAS.Tag:HA in Crz neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4CrzR.3.5.PS results in flies that show a significantly delayed recovery from ethanol-induced sedation.

Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.247.Switch, Scer\GAL4H24, Scer\GAL4c747, Scer\GAL417d, Scer\GAL4c309, Scer\GAL4Mz1366, Scer\GAL4MJ63, Scer\GAL4Aph-4-c507, Scer\GAL4104Y, Scer\GAL4D42, Scer\GAL4cenB1A-Mai301, or Scer\GAL450y increases the amount of total night-time sleep, due to Pka-R1 expression blocking PKA signalling.

Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 in a subset of PI neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR results in a significant increase in sleep consolidation - i.e. a decreased number of sleep bouts with a corresponding increase in sleep bout length. However, total nighttime sleep is not increased.

Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL430Y, Scer\GAL4Sep54, Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y, Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR, Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO or Scer\GAL4Kurs58 has no effect on PKA signalling and the nighttime sleep modulation in response to octopamine.

Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ccap.PP completely inhibits both wing expansion and tanning. Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4dimm-929 does not have a significant effect on wing expansion or cuticle tanning.

Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of either Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y, Scer\GAL4c107 or Scer\GAL4c522 leads to a decrease in ethanol sensitivity. The levels of absorbed ethanol is not affected in these flies. Decreased ethanol sensitivity of Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y>Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 flies remains after mushroom body ablation. Flies expressing Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y, and to a lesser extent when under the control of Scer\GAL4c107, are resistant to the locomotor-depressant effects of ethanol. In contrast, when expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 is driven by Scer\GAL4c522 or Scer\GAL4c290, ethanol-induced locomotor effects are not significantly different from wild type. Expression of Pka-R1BDK.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of both Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y and Scer\GAL4c747 supresses the ethanol resistance seen when only Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y is used as a driver.
