Expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ey.PU] results in flies with small, deformed eyes.
Expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ey.PH] inhibits eye development.
Stage 9 embryos expressing gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[rho.PU] show neuroblast hypoplasia and reduced mitotic activity in the developing neuroectoderm.
Expression of groScer\UAS.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-C253 leads to bristle loss on the notum, following suppression of sensory organ precursor cells.

Co-expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] does not enhance the penetrance of the embryonic lethality phenotype caused by expression of mid[Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] under the control of Scer\GAL4[69B]. However, the fraction of dead embryos which show denticle belt fusions is increased by 33% to 58%. Co-expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] and mid[F41E.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG] under the control of Scer\GAL4[69B] does not result in denticle belt fusions.
Co-expression of dgrn[Scer\UAS.P\T.cBa] suppresses the small, deformed eye phenotype caused by expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ey.PU]. Co-expression of either dgrn[HCAA.Scer\UAS.P\T] or dgrn[ΔSIMs.Scer\UAS.P\T] does not suppress the small, deformed eye phenotype caused by expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ey.PU]. Co-expression of dgrn[I268A.Scer\UAS.P\T] slightly suppresses the small, deformed eye phenotype caused by expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ey.PU].
Co-expression of hipk[Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1] partially suppresses the eye loss phenotype caused by expression of gro[Scer\UAS.cAa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[ey.PH].
Coexpression of HLHmβScer\UAS.cdCa and groScer\UAS.cAa, under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, leads to a greater loss of wing veins than expression of HLHmβScer\UAS.cdCa alone. Coexpression of groScer\UAS.cAa with rlSem.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, is unable to suppress the thick wing vein phenotype seen when only rlSem.Scer\UAS is expressed. Coexpression of btl::EgfrScer\UAS.T:λ\cI-DD with groScer\UAS.cAa, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-C253, suppresses the bristle-loss phenotype on the notum seen when groScer\UAS.cAa alone is expressed (driven by Scer\GAL4sca-C253).
