Expression of gishEP3652 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 (the animals are initially raised at 18oC and then shifted to 29oC after 10 days) causes 16-cell spermatogonial cysts to undergo cell death rather than to differentiate into spermatocytes. This defect is seen in at least 50% of testes examined.
