Stage 12 mrvaEP3102 homozygous and GlcAT-PMI05251/Df(3L)BSC117 transheterozygous embryos exhibit significantly fewer macrophages within the germband, as compared to controls; mrvaEP3102 homozygotes also show significantly fewer macrophages on the yolk, but show no changes in the number of macrophages along the ventral nerve cord and no changes in the overall number of macrophages compared to controls.

In mrvaEP3102 embryos, macrophages migrating from their initial position in the delaminated mesoderm up to the germband are significantly slower, take much longer to start invading the germ band, and are significantly slower migrating along the germ band, but there are no changes in macrophage persistence in the head, as compared to controls; macrophages migrating along the unner ventral nerve cord show no change in speed or directionality compared to controls.

mrvaEP3102 embryos show no changes in the timing of germ band retraction initiation despite a delay in its completion, and show no changes in germ cell migration from the midgut, as compared to controls. Likewise, there is no obvious defect in border cell migration in mrvaEP3102 stage 10 egg chambers compared to controls.
