Expressing egrGS9830 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc.PU induces some cells at the wing disc A/P boundary to delaminate and migrate to the posterior compartment.

The expression of egrGS9830 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to a severe increase in apoptosis at the morphogenetic furrow of the third instar larval eye disc and to small and rough eye phenotypes in adults, as compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 leads to a severe increase in apoptosis around the anterior-posterior compartment boundary of the third instar larval wing disc and to a highly penetrant anterior crossvein loss in the adult wing, as compared to controls.

Expression of egrGS9830 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc.PU in cells of the wing disc proper has no significant effect on the morphology or proliferation of the overlying peripodial membrane cells in third instar larvae.

Expression of egrGS9830 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in cell death of the developing eye tissue, such that the adult eye is severely reduced in size.

egrGS9830 mutant flies show a slight increased susceptibility to challenge by Enterococcus faecalis compared to wild type flies.

Expression of egrGS9830 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in ablation of the adult eye. Co-expression of egrIR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF suppresses this phenotype.

When egrGS9830 is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, a strong reduced eye phenotype is seen. The eye discs in these animals show massive apoptotic cell death. When egrGS9830 is driven by Scer\GAL4vg.PM wing formation is completely blocked. When egrGS9830 is driven by Scer\GAL4sca-537.4, disorganised macrochaetae are seen in the notum and scutellum. Also severe developmental defects are seen in the abdomen.

Flies expressing egrGS9830 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have a small-eye phenotype.
