What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release.
It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other
FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled
vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Expression of e[Scer\UAS.cWa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[pnr-MD237] causes increased yellow pigmentation in the abdominal cuticle. eScer\UAS.cWa when driven by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237, suppresses black pigment formation in all epidermal cells. In the thorax the cuticle lightens slightly relative to wild-type. In the abdomen a striking inhibition of melanin formation is seen, which is replaced with a tan pigment.

Genetic Interactions
| |||
Statement Reference Co-expression of e[Scer\UAS.cWa] abolishes the thorax pigmentation defects seen in Pk92B[ΔN.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG], Scer\GAL4[pnr-MD237] flies. Simultaneous co-expression of e[Scer\UAS.cWa] and t[Scer\UAS.cTa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[pnr-MD237] results in a pigmentation phenotype in the abdominal cuticle that is intermediate to that caused by expression of either e[Scer\UAS.cWa] or t[Scer\UAS.cTa] alone. When yScer\UAS.cCa and eScer\UAS.cWa are driven together by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 induces the formation of more black melanin than eScer\UAS.cWa alone, though the wild-type level of pigmentation is not restored.
