Flies expressing Spn27AScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C show a strongly reduced melanisation reaction at a wound site 16 hours after septic injury compared to control flies.

Expression of Spn27AScer\UAS.cLa ubiquitously under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32, or in crystal cells under the control of Scer\GAL4lz-gal4, completely inhibits melanization of hemolymph clots.
