Transheterozygous CkIIβmbuP1/CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L mutant larvae show a small but significant increase in synaptic retractions and survive to adulthood. CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L mutant MARCM clones cause synaptic retraction at 33% of the mutant neuromuscular junctions.
The mushroom body calyx of flies transheterozygous for CkIIβmbuP1 and CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L is approximately a third of the size of that in wild type flies. The mushroom body calyx of flies transheterozygous for CkIIβAnd and CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L is approximately a third of the size of that in wild type flies. Expression of CkIIβVIIb.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL in a CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L background results in mushroom body calyces that are proportionally larger than those of wild type flies. Expression of CkIIβVIIa-M166I.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL rescues the mushroom body phenotype of CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L flies.
Heterozygotes have a circadian rhythm of 24.6 hours, CkIIβmbuΔA26-2L/CkIIβAnd transheterozygotes 25.8 hours.
