The small rough eye phenotype characteristic for adult flies expressing egrScer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is enhanced by co-expression of either fmtGD6928 or PpVGD7532 or by combination with a single copy of fmt1 or PpVΔ1, when combined with one copy of both fmt1 and PpVΔ1 the eye is almost completely lost. The reduced eye size of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU>egrScer\UAS.cIa adults is not suppressed by co-expressing either fmtScer\UAS.cMa or PpVScer\UAS.P\T.N.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP individually but simultaneous expression of both transgenes significantly ameliorates the small eye phenotype.

Expression of egrScer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU in the cells surrounding scrib1 clones in the eye-antennal disc significantly enhances the elimination of the mutant scrib1 clones compared to that seen when the cells surrounding the clone are wild type. In an egr1 mutant background, scrib1 mutant clones in the eye-antennal disc are no longer eliminated, but grow aggressively and develop into tumours. In this background, expression of egrScer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU only in the cells surrounding the scrib1 clones reverses the tumour phenotype; the scrib1 clones do not overgrow and are out-competed by the surrounding cells.
The pupal lethality of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237>egrScer\UAS.cIa is partially suppressed by the co-expression of POSHGD11467. The flies survive to adulthood with a thorax cleft. Co-expression of POSHGD11467 significantly suppresses the Scer\GAL4GMR.PU>egrScer\UAS.cIa-induced small-eye phenotype. Heterozygous POSHp327 can suppress the Scer\GAL4GMR.PU>egrScer\UAS.cIa eye phenotype by 37%. Overexpression of POSHScer\UAS.cSa can suppress the small-eye phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU>egrScer\UAS.cIa, although a rough-eye phenotype is still observed.
Expression of egrScer\UAS.cIa and Rab5Scer\UAS.cEa in the eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a severe small-eye phenotype. Tumour formation and animal lethality are both completely rescued by over-expression of egrScer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI in scrib1, egr1 double mutant clones. Co-expression of P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} suppresses, while co-expression of HsrωEP3037 enhances the photoreceptor degeneration phenotype seen in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, egrScer\UAS.cIa eye discs. Co-expression of thScer\UAS.cHa suppresses, while co-expression of thdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cLa enhances the eye phenotype of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, egrScer\UAS.cIa flies. Additional co-expression of P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} in Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, egrScer\UAS.cIa, thScer\UAS.cHa flies restores eyes to wild type. The reduced eye phenotype caused by expression of Rab11N124I.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is enhanced by co-expression of egrScer\UAS.cIa.
Co-expression of Hsp60DdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS suppresses the eye phenotype caused by expression of egrScer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Co-expression of bskdsRNA.Scer\UAS with egrScer\UAS.cIa in eye clones, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in suppression of the apoptotic eye phenotype observed in egrScer\UAS.cIa mutant clones. Overexpression of egrScer\UAS.cIa in Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS mutants (both under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI) using the FLP/FRT system in brain somatic clones results in accelerated tumour growth, despite nether expression of Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS or egrScer\UAS.cIa alone causing dramatic overgrowth. These tumorigenic regions do not invade into the ventral nerve cord. shgk03401 mutant larval brain cells expressing both Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS and egrScer\UAS.cIa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI generate into invasive tumours that can invade the ventral nerve cord (this phenotype occurs with 88% penetrance). Expression of Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS, egrScer\UAS.cIa and bskDN.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI in shgk03401 mutant larval cephalic complexes (brain, eye and antennal discs) induces tumor invasion of the ventral nerve cord.
