Not3KG10496 heterozygosity does not induce visible eye defects; the eye disc exhibits no changes in cell division (BrdU labelling and pH3 immunostaining), or apoptosis (Dcp1a immunostaining), as compared to controls.

The pericardial cells are misarranged in mutant stage 17 embryos, while the inner cardioblast cell row is normal.

The severity of the tut4 mutant tumorigenic phenotype is also strongly enhanced by combination with Not3KG10496 homozygosity, on the contrary the phenotype appears rather ameliorated. If combined with just one copy of tut4, this genetic perturbation does not cause a significant tumor phenotype.

Addition of Not3KG10496 to the Scer\GAL4ey.PH DlScer\UAS.cDa background markedly increases tumor incidence in the eyes.
