Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Wing blisters are seen in 100% of shotdsRNA.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 animals. When shotdsRNA.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4sr-md710 and Scer\GAL4how-24B, larvae do not grow, remain at first and second instar stages for a few days and eventually die. Tendon cells lose their compact morphology and become very elongated (often three to four times the length of wild-type). However their association with the muscle and with the cuticle is maintained. levels of microtubules (MTs) at muscle-tendon junctions are greatly reduced. Often MTs are significantly elongated in the mutant tendon cell. Also ectopic Actin filaments are formed and detected between the cuticle and the muscle-tendon junction domains. These Actin bundles are independent of MT presence and are detected in cells in which MTs are still observed. | |||
