Flies with savGMR.PT and wtsGMR.PT have a dramatically increased proportion of yellow R8 photoreceptors and a reciprocally decreased proportion of pale R8 photoreceptors; this is suppressed in clones homozygous for BEAF-32AB-KO, to the extent that the proportion of yellow R8 photoreceptors is reduced compared to wild-type controls.
