Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4e22c produces small ectopic denticles in the naked cuticle regions and also disrupts the normal arrangement and morphology of denticles within denticle belts.

Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-GAL4-U does not produce a mutant phenotype in the leg.

Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS in embryos, under the control of Scer\GAL4wg.PM, results in the formation of supernumerary denticles.

Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, show ectopic cuticular extensions on the embryonic epidermis; these ectopic extensions are as densely pigmented as wild-type denticles.

Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 induces the formation of ectopic denticles in cells that normally form smooth cuticle. Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 increases adult wing hair length and density. F-actin pupal prehairs in the wing are longer than normal in these animals and supernumerary prehairs are formed. The ectopic prehairs retain a normal distal-most location and orientation in the cell. Expression of ovosvb.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF impairs bristle formation in the eye and results in the formation of ectopic extensions on the ommatidia.
