Embryos expressing edlUAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4twi.2PE leads to cardioblast patterning defects and to a significant increase in the overall number of cardioblasts (both generic and ostial cardioblasts), as compared to controls.

Expression of edlScer\UAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in a reduction in eye size. Photoreceptors neurons are hardly detected and most of the retina is occupied by pigment cells. In the developing eye disc, a massive reduction of differentiating neurons is seen from the earliest stages of ommatidial assembly, although R8 specification is largely unaffected. Expression of edlScer\UAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev does not transform cone cells towards a neuronal fate and suppresses the formation of the endogenous R7 neurons. Expression of edlScer\UAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev results in a rough eye phenotype. Expression of edlScer\UAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 dorsalises the chorion, resulting in fused dorsal appendages. Expression of edlScer\UAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in a duplication of the wing.
