Oocytes from didum²³⁴ germline clones exhibit mild polarity defects (mislocalized Staufen protein).

Embryos derived from females carrying homozygous germ line clones have variable posterior defects and short Filzkorper, and lack pole cells. Variable head defects are seen. Few embryos hatch.
