The expression of Atg5dsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PU does not affect sensitivity to starvation.

Adults expressing Atg5dsRNA.UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4hs.PB, Scer\GAL4elav-C155 or Scer\GAL4repo infected with ZIKV present an increased viral load in the head, as compared to infected controls.

Expressing Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 has no effect on the increase in sleep duration seen in wild type flies in response to rapamycin.

Expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ChAT.7.4 results in a significant decrease in life span as compared to control flies.

Flies expressing Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.Switch.PR in the presence of RU486 show reduced lysotracker red staining of the adult midgut compared to controls in both fed and fasting flies.

Adult expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.Switch.PR in the presence of RU486 has no effect on adult lifespan.

The lifespan of flies injected with E.coli is significantly reduced by expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.Switch.PR in the presence of RU486. These flies show a significant increase in bacterial load compared to control flies.

Constitutive induction of Atg5 has no sigificant effect on the size or growth rate of wild type animals. Clonal expression in the fat body causes hypersensitivity to starvation. Inhibition of Atg5 causes rapamycin sensitivity.

Knockdown of Atg5, through expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS, does not impact on the initial growth of Pten117 clones with reduced slif function (through expression of slifUY681).

The ability of AcnScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.PH to induce autolysosome formation in the fat body in the absence of starvation is suppressed by co-expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue, which is enhanced by co-expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS.

Expression of Gug66QC.Scer\UAS in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue, which is enhanced by co-expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS.

Expression of Gug75QN.Scer\UAS in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue, which is enhanced by co-expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS.

Statement

Co-expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS leads to partial suppression of the lifespan reduction seen in flies expressing Hsap\APPAβ42.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ChAT.7.4.

Flies co-expressing Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS and Hsap\ATXN3fl.Q84.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU show loss of retinal integrity.
