      Large somatic clones of ph-pScer\UAS.cNa; Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in the follicle cells are associated with fusions of 2 egg chambers and apposed eggs chambers not separated by an interfollicular stalk. The follicular epithelium of these fused egg chambers is abnormally curved. Germaria encompassed by these somatic clones are elongated and contain multiple mature germline cysts in an extended region 2b/3. These nascent cysts are only partially individualized by somatic cells and budding off from the germarium is severely delayed or deficient. Unlike in other fused cyst phenotypes, the correct number of pole cells are present.
