Expression of hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in an expansion (by 55%) of the distal hinge domain of the wing disc.

Expression of hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in wing overgrowth.

Pupal eye clones of cells expressing hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL exhibit increased clonal area as well as overproliferation of interommatidial cells.

hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS expression in somatic clones induces an increase in tissue and organ size, leading, for example, to oversized halteres, or to an overgrowth of imaginal discs. Photoreceptor differentiation in the third instar larval eye imaginal disc is unaffected by hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS induction, however, third instar eye imaginal discs containing large flp-out hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS clones are enlarged compared to wild-type. Cells in larval eye imaginal disc hpodsRNA.Scer\UAS clones fail to arrest in the morphogenetic furrow and, after the second mitotic wave, undergo additional rounds of division.
