Expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 can induce small fragments of extra veins and a delta phenotype, consistent with mild pro-BMP activity. When cvScer\UAS.cVa and cv-2Scer\UAS.cVa are co-expressed under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9, there is no evidence of strong BMP inhibition.
Scer\GAL4A9, cvUAS.cVa, sogUAS.cYa has wing phenotype, non-suppressible by dppUAS.cHa/Scer\GAL4A9
Scer\GAL4A9/cvUAS.cVa is a non-suppressor of wing phenotype of Scer\GAL4A9, gbbUAS.cKa
Scer\GAL4A9, sogUAS.cYa, cvUAS.cVa is a non-suppressor of wing phenotype of Scer\GAL4A9, dppUAS.cHa
Scer\GAL4A9/cvUAS.cVa is a non-suppressor of wing phenotype of Scer\GAL4A9, dppUAS.cHa
Scer\GAL4A9, cvUAS.cVa, gbbUAS.cKa, sogUAS.cYa has crossvein phenotype
Scer\GAL4en-e16E, cvUAS.cVa, sogUAS.cYa has wing | posterior phenotype
Scer\GAL4A9, cvUAS.cVa, sogUAS.cYa has wing phenotype
Scer\GAL4A9, cvUAS.cVa, sogUAS.cYa has wing cell phenotype
Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, cvUAS.cVa, sogUAS.cYa has wing phenotype
Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa and sogScer\UAS.cYa under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 produces a phenotype resembling early loss of BMP signalling in the organiser that runs along the anterior-posterior boundary (i.e. reduction in size and loss of intervein regions). Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa and sogScer\UAS.cYa along the anterior-posterior boundary under the regulation of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, affects structures throughout the wing, whereas co-expression in the posterior compartment under the regulation of Scer\GAL4en-e16E affects only posterior structures. When cvScer\UAS.cVa and sogScer\UAS.cYa are co-expressed under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9, there is strong BMP inhibition. Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa with dppScer\UAS.cHa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 has no detectable effect on the overexpression phenotype of dppScer\UAS.cHa (wing disruption). Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa and sogScer\UAS.cYa, with dppScer\UAS.cHa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 has no detectable effect on the overexpression phenotype of dppScer\UAS.cHa (wing disruption). Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa with gbbScer\UAS.cKa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 has no detectable effect on the overexpression phenotype of gbbScer\UAS.cKa (wing disruption). Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa and sogScer\UAS.cYa, with gbbScer\UAS.cKa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 re-establishes the intervein tissue and the longitudinal veins with a series of expanded crossveins between L2 and L3 on the wing. Therefore, cv and sog interact together to suppress the wing phenotype of gbb.
Scer\GAL4how-24B/cvUAS.cVa partially rescues cv43
Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1/cvUAS.cVa partially rescues cv43
Two copies of cvScer\UAS.cVa (in the absence of a Scer\GAL4 driver) show some rescue of the crossvein phenotype of cv43 mutants, while the tergal depressor of trochanter (TDT) muscle phenotype and jump ability is completely rescued. One copy of cvScer\UAS.cVa (in the absence of a Scer\GAL4 driver) does not rescue either the crossvein of TDT phenotypes of cv43 mutants.
Expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa under the control of either Scer\GAL4how-24B or Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 significantly rescues both the crossvein and TDT defects of cv43 mutants.
cv18 hemizygotes can be rescued by the expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 along the anterior-posterior border, rescues both the anterior crossvein and the posterior crossvein in cv mutants. cv1 hemizygotes can be rescued by the expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 along the anterior-posterior border, rescues both the anterior crossvein and the posterior crossvein in cv mutants.
