Flies expressing G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 exhibit defective wing margin stout bristles. Defective bristles exhibit a range of phenotypes, they may contain: two sockets/two hairs, one socket/three hairs, one socket/two hairs, two sockets/one hair, no socket/two hairs, no socket/one hair, or one or two sockets/no hair. Flies expressing G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 exhibit defects in approximately 1.5% of wing margin bristles.

Co-expression of GαoScer\UAS.cKa enhances the wing defects caused by expressing kermitScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, significantly increasing the number of cells producing multiple hairs and producing severe reorientation of hairs in some wing regions. The wing cells often produce 3 hairs in the double mutant wings.
Overexpressed G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa, under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 induces division defects that are attenuated by the removal of one copy of Gγ1k08017. Overexpression of G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa, under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 in a rapsΔ50 or raps193 heterozygous background results in a significant enhancement of the asymmetric division defects observed in G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 mutants. The effects of overexpression of G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa are suppressed in fzunspecified homozygous wings. The effects of overexpression of G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 are attenuated in Gγ1k08017 heterozygotes. Coexpression of fz2Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP and G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in mutual enhancement of their respective phenotypes. No modification of the G-oα47AScer\UAS.cKa overexpression phenotype (under Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 control) is observed in locoM1 heterozygous mutants.
