Description

UASt sequences drive expression of a truncated form of Dl, with a stop codon introduced at residue 582. This results in the expression of a protein that mimics the 63 kD cleavage product created by proteolysis of the extracellular fragment of Dl by kuz.

      Eyes of flies that express Dlstop582.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, are similar to wild type but have occasional miss-positioning or duplication of bristles. Wings of flies expressing Dlstop582.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 appear to have a wild-type phenotype, while flies expressing Dlstop582.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 have mild wing deltas and occasional extra vein material.
