Vps13c03628 homozygotes are viable at 22[o]C but partially lethal at higher temperatures, with significantly fewer animals eclosing at 29[o]C] than at 25[o]C; at 25[o]C, the surviving adults present a significant decrease in lifespan, with the majority of individuals dying between days 16 and 20 post eclosion, as compared to wild-type controls; Vps13c03628 homozygous adults present a significant decrease in climbing capacity at day 17 (but not at day 4) post eclosion, as compared to wild-type age-matched controls, and present abundant vacuoli in the brain, including in the central complex, at day 20 post eclosion, which is absent in wild-type age-matched controls; Vps13c03628 heterozygotes do not show any obvious phenotype, as compared to controls.

Vps13c03628/Df(2R)Exel6053 and Vps13c03628/Df(2R)Exel6052 transheterozygotes reared at 29[o]C are partially lethal, showing a significant decrease in the eclosion rate as compared to controls.
