When tum^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} is driven by Scer\GAL4^OK107, axon overextension and a reduction of cell number is seen in mushroom body neurons. There appears to be a defect in cytokinesis. The normal axon trajectory is also disrupted in mutants. Unlike in wild-type, axons extend beyond the dorsal lobe and project toward the midline of the brain. Occasionally processes also target incorrectly and extend ventromedially from the dendritic region of the mushroom body.
