Expression of Nep1EY21255 under the control of either Scer\GAL4c739 or Scer\GAL4VT064246 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the expression to adulthood) does not impair middle-term memory tested in an aversive olfactory memory assay 2hr post-training.

Animals expressing Nep1EY21255 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.5xCD develop into adults without any obvious defects.

Flies simultaneously expressing ApplScer\UAS.cTa and BaceScer\UAS.cCSa under the control of Scer\GAL4VT064246 display deficit in both middle- and long-term memory and this can be rescued by co-expression of Nep1EY21255.

The impaired long-term memory tested in an aversive olfactory memory assay (measured 24hr post-training) characteristic for adult flies expressing ApplAβ.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 (combined with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit expression to adulthood) under the control of either Scer\GAL4c739 or Scer\GAL4VT064246 is not significantly affected by co-expression of Nep1EY21255 with the Scer\GAL4c739 driver but is effectively rescued with the Scer\GAL4VT064246 driver.
