Expression of shrbScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP driven in class IV dendritic arborizing sensory neurons ddaC by Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 leads to significant disruptions in pruning at 0hr and 18hr after puparium formation (APF), with dendrites still attached to the cell body (resulting from a lack of branch severing); delay of onset of expression to the third instar larval stage (using GAL80ts) leads to normal dendrite pruning at 0 APF but strong severing defects are apparent at 18hr APF.
Third instar larvae expressing shrbScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of either Scer\GAL4ppl.PP or Scer\GAL4Cg.PA often have partially collapsed tracheal tubes.
Mushroom body gamma neurons expressing shrbScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y show an axon pruning defect.
