Expression of Abd-BGD4680 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu or Scer\GAL4nSyb.PS (in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency) results in a significant decrease in virgin female receptivity, as compared to controls (but this phenotype is not seen if a Gal80[ts] transgene is included to restrict expression to the adult stage); no significant difference in the postmating response is seen in these flies, and there is no difference in female attractiveness to males as measured by male courtship index, as compared to controls.

Expression of Abd-BGD4680 under the control of Scer\GAL4Abd-B-LDN (along with Scer\FLP1Ecol\lexAop.cSa, Scer\GAL80αTub84B.PG and Ecol\lexAGMR57C10 to restrict expression to Abd-B-expressing neurons) in virgin females results in significantly reduced receptivity to mating, as compared to controls. Expression of Abd-BGD4680 under the control of Scer\GAL4Abd-B-LDN alone results in females with malformed genitalia that are unable to copulate.

Adults expressing Abd-BGD4680 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in adult/pharate lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 80-90% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.
